Our Methodology

Creating a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) is not about creating a voluminous document that nobody reads. It is the preparatory work that you do in a calm, "normal" environment, rather than trying to gather information in the middle of a panic. Picanol's consultants will work with your IT staff to collect as much information as possible about the operating environment, applications, hardware, and services. At this point, it will be determined what services are most critical to the daily operations of the corporation. Well-defined teams will be assigned to handle various aspects of the recovery. Roles and responsibilities of each team member will be clearly defined.

As part of Picanol's consulting services, our consultants will create a detailed plan that will contain the following sections:

  • Define the scope of the plan
  • Perform an Operational Analysis
  • Perform a Disaster Risk Analysis

  • Document Applications and Systems
  • Tolerance Analysis
  • Prioritization of Recovery
  • Organizational Chart
  • Contact List
  • Team Development
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Review of Plan
  • Policy Changes
  • Testing of Plan
  • Implementation
  • Plan Maintenance

  • In the Event of an Emergency

  • Using the Plan
